Pete Townshend: “The musicians do two things I don’t do”
The guitarist of Whoho, Pete Townshendin an interview with the Spaniards of Rockfm he revealed that he does not like to perform and that he has more than one difficulty collaborating with other musicians, despite having drawn joy from many of his collaborations.
The 79 -year -old English musician explained: “Most of the musicians are not like me. Most of the musicians do two things that I don’t do or that I don’t like them. First, they love to perform. I don’t like to perform. I don’t like being on a stage. I don’t care about being on stage. I don’t hate it, but I don’t fill my soul as you can see in some artists, where their soul is not filling on the stage. Like this”.
He then continued saying: “The other thing, is that they love to collaborate with other musicians. Imagine, for example, a group of flamenco, without guitar, without dance, without the beats of hands, the miracles, the unexpected events that happen when it happens, there would be no, and there would be no dance that accompanies it, as we do it in the classic Spanish tradition. On the other hand, there are musicians, Example, which take the guitar and play it.
Pete Townshend He then closed his speech: “For example, if I were in a study with a really good musician, or with a really good group of musicians, I think I would find it very difficult. Often I find it very difficult. I find it difficult to collaborate. I find it very difficult to look in the eyes another musician. I find myself looking for my energy to express myself. So, in this sense, I am very different from most of the musicians. On the other hand, I obviously admire the collaboration.
