Pearl Jam: will the new drummer be one of these “free”?
Yesterday the Pearl Jam announced the separation from the historic drummer Matt Cameron, for twenty -seven years the rhythmic engine of the band led by Eddie Vedder: “After 27 fantastic years, I made the last steps on the battery platform for the legendary Pearl Jam. A great love and compared to Jeff, and, Mike and Stone for inviting me to the band in 1998 and for giving me the opportunity of a life, full of friends, Artistic, challenges and laughter “, wrote the person concerned, formalizing divorce. After the initial shock of the fans, now many already wonder who will take Cameron’s place on drums.
A series of hypotheses is advanced. The site specialized in Heavy Metal and Hard Rock music has lined up a series of profiles, nine in all, between “free” drummers and others who already had to do with Eddie Vedder and members in the past, among which it could – the conditional is a must – to hide the heir of Matt Cameron.
They range from Josh Freese (already at the service of Guns N ‘Roses, Nine Inch Nails, to Perfect Circle and, more recently, Foo Fighters – Currently free) to Jack Irons (who played in the Pearl Jam already between 1994 and 1998, before being replaced by Matt Cameron himself – a return would have the sensational), passing through Dave Krusen (he played in the first first album of Pearl Jam, “Ten”, before becoming one of the members of the Candlebox). Loudwire also makes the name, unlikely, of Josh Klinghoffer: in 2022 he went on tour with the Pearl Jam as a guitarist, but as a multi -entrusted multi -entrustist, he got away with him when I see him asked to take Cameron’s place on the battery in the period in which the latter marked Covid.
Among the names made by Loudwire also Matt Chamberlain (David Bowie, Elton John, Garbage), Dave Abbruzzese (he played the battery for Pearl Jam between 1991 and 1994), Stephen Perkins (Jane’s Addiction and Porno For Pyros), Frank Ferrer (he released from Guns N ‘Roses last March) and Brad Wilk) (Rage Against The Machine, Audioslave, Prophets of Rage).
Is the new drummer of Pearl Jam actually hides between one of these musicians or instead Eddie Vedder and members have a surprise for their fans?
