Paul McCartney: “One Hand Clapping” is coming soon with new gems
The official announcement is still missing, but it now seems certain: the next record release of Paul McCartney will be “One Hand Clapping”, a double LP and double CD (due 14 June) documenting rehearsals held over four days at Abbey Road in August 1974 by Paul and his band Wingsrecently reconstituted as a quintet with the additions of the drummer Geoff Britton and the guitarist Jimmy McCulloch next to the nucleus composed of Linda And Denny Laine.
McCartney was testing the band in view of a possible world tour, which however would only materialize in 1975-76. The album also includes songs recorded solo by McCartney on the piano (the so-called “cabaret sequence”, given the Thirties-style repertoire), and on the acoustic guitar: the latter is a performance performed in the garden located in the back of the studios, note with the title “The Backyard”. It presents a McCartney in a state of grace, we can really say that.
A surprise release, which accompanies the most important news in the Beatles world just announced, that is the re-release of the film “Let It Be”, available in streaming on the Disney+ platform starting from 8 May.
Widely bootlegged over the decades, “One Hand Clapping” is known to ex-Beatle collectors especially in video format (which is rumored to be offered on YouTube in a restored version). Although not in full version, it was officially released on DVD (and in audio) in 2010 as part of the Deluxe Edition of “Band on the Run”.
However, this new album contains many previously unreleased gems: we would like to point out “Tomorrow” (from “Wild Life”), “The Long and Winding Road” And “Let It Be”.
As happens more and more often, there are exclusive songs in only one of the formats in which the album will be available, something not always appreciated by collectors' wallets.
Here are the details of the editions:
– 2LP/2CD/Digital
– Online exclusive: 2LP +7”
