Oscar 2024: the songs competing for “Best Original Song”
On the night between 10 and 11 March, the awards ceremony of the 96th edition of the Oscars will be held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. During the evening, presented again by Jimmy Kimmel, the winners of the various categories will be discovered (here is the complete list of nominations announced last January). The ceremony will be broadcast live in Italy on Rai 1 and streaming on RaiPlay starting from 11.30pm.
As for the musical categories, competing for one of the most coveted statuettes, that for “Best Original Song”, are Billie Eilish with her brother Finneas and Mark Ronson with Andrew Wyatt for two songs from the “Barbie” soundtrack, respectively “What was I made for?” and “I'm just Ken” – the latter performed in the film by Ryan Gosling.
Also competing in the same category are “It never went away” by Jon Batiste from the Netflix documentary “American Symphony”,
“The fire inside” by Diane Warren played by Becky G from the film “Flamin' Hot” by Eva Longoria,
and Scott George's “Wahzhazhe (A song for my people)” from Martin Scorsese's “Killers of the flower moon”.
