Omar Pedrini: farewell concert in Verona
Last October 27, 2023 Omar Pedriniafter releasing his latest album”Suspended” (Read our review here) had kicked off the tour”Omar Pedrini 35, from Timoria to today: goodbye rock’n’roll“, the one with which he announced his retirement from the scene.
This is what Omar Pedrini said when announcing his last tour
I have always given myself completely to my beloved audience, “anema and core” and, when I stopped, it was precisely because of the rogue “core”, which has forced me to take long breaks over the last 20 years. But as a Warrior as I am defined, I always have great enthusiasm at the idea of returning to the stage.
This time the occasion is even more important, because I am celebrating 35 years of my career. It will be nice to smell for the umpteenth time the smell of those stages on which I will find my sweat, sometimes my blood, but also many memories of a life spent for rock’n’roll and in which I hope to see many friendly faces again and new friends. Also because it will be my “last round of rock’n’roll”: I have decided to look my future in the face and dedicate myself to a new me, bringing something completely new into my career and which, at this moment in my life, it better represents my artistic and personal growth.
The decision to withdraw has to do with his health conditions, with his heart problems which forced him to undergo several surgeries (some of them very serious).
As he explained to the Giornale L’Arena, a stop was imposed on him:
Two years ago my father-in-law, who is a heart surgeon, after yet another heart operation told me that I had to change my life. My children’s grandfather explained it to me by giving me a “last lap” to say goodbye to my fans: it was no longer possible to lose two kilos every evening and eat at three in the morning.
It was almost a year long goodbye but finally the moment has arrived. Saturday 5 October at the Factory in San Martino Buon Albergo the founder of Timoria at the end of the concert will say hello definitively (perhaps) his audience and will dedicate himself to something else, abandoning the scenes and all the implications they entail.
Alongside his artistic and educational activity, Omar has been cultivating the land and producing wine in Tuscany for some years. His future will certainly depend on these experiences, provided that the stage is truly abandoned…
