The journey continues: “ko mixtape” is okgiorgio’s new project, out on Friday 17 October. Through fifteen tracks the album represents the synthesis of the producer and musician’s journey (here is our latest interview): two years of shared music, of stages crossed and people met, of experiences transformed into sound. A work that comes from the desire to tell what words often fail to say, a language that starts from the club and arrives, through sound, to generate energy and emotion. Starting as a member of the band Iside, now mainly in the role of electronic music composer and DJ, even if he doesn’t feel like one, okgiorgio is also one of the producers on whom there is the most attention in Italythe reason is his ability to leave a tangible imprint on the songs he gets his hands on. Launched by the Nuclear Tactical Penguins, with which it collaborates closely, he worked with Rose Villain, Tananai, Angelina Mango, Ditonellapiaga, Giuse The Lizia, Loredana Berté, Fulminacci and others.

In the musical universe of “ko mixtape” (which will be presented through five-hour DJ sets) electronics, instruments, vocal samples and delicate textures, pulsations and moments of suspension coexist. It is no coincidence that many have renamed him “The Italian Fred Again”, this is because okgiorgio builds sound spaces in which the melody becomes strongly emotional. In this balance the language also finds a precise role. The words intertwine with the beats like an invisible signature. The album, as a whole, is truly a journey. Giorgio deconstructs, recombines and reassembles electronic sounds and ethereal voices, in an ecosystem between dance music and evocative words. “Ko cuore”, the focus track, is the symbolic point of the project: “It is the only song of the mixtape, the one that arrives at the end of a long setwhen the night doesn’t seem to want to end,” says the producer.

Emotional and bright, “ko cuore” was born as a natural closure, the moment in which the bass drum fades, the lights come on. In general “ko mixtape” is the photograph of a shared time, two years of music transformed into a collective vibration that unites those who play and those who listen. The lyrics are from: Federico Laini (“ko ciao”, “ko cuore”), Simone Chiarolini (“ko soli”), Edoardo Nanni (“ko tempo”), Giorgio Pesenti, or rather himself (“knock out eco”, “knock out madness”, “knock out espira”), Alessandro Scagliarini (“knock out paradise”), Emanuela Luzi (“knock out feel”, “knock out libera”), Carlo Sabatucci (“knock out think”), Francesca Mirabile (“knock out sudden”), Pier Danio Forni (“knock out confused”).
