Oasis, the reunion: the monetization of nostalgia

Oasis won’t do interviews together: they fear journalists

Fans will have to be content with seeing them together only on stage. And it’s not a small thing, considering everything they’ve said and written to each other in the fifteen years since that furious argument backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris which in August 2009 brought the band to the end of the line. Oasis will not appear in front of cameras and microphones for interviews: Liam and Noel Gallagher will promote separately.

The reason? They fear questions from journalists. All true. Liam Gallagher explained it on X, responding to a fan who asked him if it was Noel who refused interviews with him. The youngest of the Gallagher brothers replied: “We don’t want to do interviews because we are scared of the media, which could ask us prying questions and ruin our relationship.” Liam then explained that there won’t even be a press conference.

The Oasis reunion tour will kick off on July 4th from Cardiff’s Principality Stadium. All UK dates are sold out. Tickets for the dates in Canada, the United States and Mexico are also sold out.
