Oasis, a rare version of “Sad Song” sung by Liam Gallagher

A new preview has been released of the reissue of Oasis’ debut album, “Definitely Maybe”, due on August 30th to celebrate the band’s 30th anniversary. The track in question is a rare alternate version performed by Liam Gallagher of “Sad Song”, a bonus track on the album originally released on August 29, 1994. The song was originally released with Noel Gallagher on vocals.

The newly released track, titled “Sad Song (Mauldeth Road West Demo, Nov ’92)”, and accompanied by the music video above, follows the release of “Up In The Sky (Monnow Valley Version)” and “Columbia (Sawmills Outtake)”.

The 30th anniversary reissue of Definitely Maybe will include outtakes of the songs recorded at Sawmills Studios, mixed for the first time by Noel Gallagher with Callum Marinho, as well as tracks cut and then discarded from another of the album’s sessions at Monnow Valley Studios.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ debut album, Liam Gallagher embarked on a UK and Ireland tour, finishing with a double-header in Manchester on June 27 and 28.
