Oasis: 30 years ago the debut single “Supersonic”

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the release of the debut single “Supersonic” of the Oasisfrom now It is available in physical a replica of the original 1994 CD single in a limited edition and numbered pearl-coloured vinyl version.

Furthermore, there is one available live version of the debut single recorded during the historic concert at the Limelight in Belfast on 4 September 1994.

The live version perfectly captures the moment when Oasis were one of the most exciting new bands of the moment.

That same week as the live in Belfast their debut album was released “Definitely Maybe” and shortly before going on stage the band discovered that the album had reached #1 in the Official UK Albums Chart.

Fans who had traveled from all over Northern Ireland were treated to an unforgettable concert that would go down in history.

David Neely he was General Manager and booker of the venue in 1994 and remembers the night of the Oasis concert:

They took to the stage at the Limelight, Belfast on Sunday 4th September. It was a sell out with 500 people at the concert and tickets cost just £6.75!
On the Sunday of the week the first album was released, the show at the Limelight was the right venue for the right band at the right time. I remember around 6.30pm (in the dark days before mobile phones) we got a call from the Radio One office advising us that the band had just gone to #1 in the album charts.
It was a sight that thousands of people now claim to have been there for.
