The Oasismuch to the excitement of fans, have revealed their return to the stage by announcing a series of major stadium concerts across the UK and Ireland taking place next summer. This was followed by the announcement of dates in North America, South America, Australia, South Korea and Japan.
In anticipation of this world event and in consideration of the “difficult” past between the two brothers a Noel Gallagher was asked to talk about these eagerly awaited shows while attending the ‘Zoë Law: Legends’ conference at the National Portrait Gallery in London on Thursday 28 November. He was specifically asked if he believes he and brother Liam will behave as wildly as they did in heyday of the nineties.
“No, it won’t be as turbulent as back in the day, because we’re over 50 now, so we’re too old,” he said, according to The Sun. “We’re too old to take it anymore – he added – so there won’t be any relapses, there won’t be any arguments. It’s a lap of honor for the band”.
According to rumors from the British press, the two brothers do not want to argue because, again according to what the British newspaper The Sun reported some time ago, the organizers of the band’s concerts Oasis – precisely to avoid unpleasant surprises – it seems they took care to include a clause in the band’s contract that provides for payment only after the concert is completed. The English newspaper, echoing the thoughts of some UK insiders, writes that the two, known for their character, will receive a joint compensation of 6 million pounds for each concert only after performing on stage.
Following the reveal of their return, Oasis have ruled out a headlining performance at Glastonbury 2025 and said they will not be performing at any further festivals next summer. Liam and Noel also denied rumors they would return to Knebworth in 2026.
As for the tour’s supporters, the band announced that i Cage The Elephant will open the North American leg, while the former Verve frontman and soloist Richard Ashcroft hey Cast they will join their Mancunian brothers and associates on the UK and Ireland dates.
With regard to Liam Gallagher the frontman recently retracted his claims that the band were recording a new album, telling fans it was “for a laugh”.
The singer had been talking about a potential new LP since September, when a fan asked via social media: “Is it true that Oasis will have a new album?”, with Liam replying: “it’s already finished”. He later also replied to a fan asking if a new record was “in the air,” replying, “It’s in the bag, man, fuck the air.” He then reiterated the point to fans on Twitter/X saying he was “blown away” by the material that Noel had written for the record, record which, according to Liam, they would have recorded in November.
