Noel Gallagher makes a surprise performance with the Black Keys
After having contributed together with Beck to the creation of the new album by the Black Keys, titled “Ohio players” (read our review here) and released on April 5th, Noel Gallagher was guest of the duo originally from Akron, Ohio, even on stage.
Last May 7th the tour in support of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney's most recent album, “International Players Tour”, stopped at the O2 Academy in Brixton for the first of three dates scheduled in the London venue. During the evening, during the final moment of the encore, the Black Keys surprisingly invited the former Oasis player to join them on stage.
In “Ohio players”, Noel Gallagher is credited as co-writer of the songs “You'll pay”, “Only love matters” and “On the game”, to which he also contributed backing vocals and electric guitar. The last two songs mentioned were presented live in London by the American duo with the support of Noel, as witnessed in some videos made by those present and shared online.
For the current month of May, between the United Kingdom and Europe, the “International Players Tour” includes two more dates in Paris and one in Manchester. At the moment the tour does not include stops in Italy, where the Black Keys performed last year for a concert at the Milanese I-Days before Noel's “brother-rival”, Liam Gallagher.
