Nick Cave: the new soundtrack signed with Ellis unveiled
Nick Cave renews his partnership with Warren Ellis for a new soundtrack. It will be the fourteenth composed of the Bad Seeds frontman together with his team, exactly twenty years after that of “The Proposition”, which in 2005 represented the beginning of their collaboration. It has just been announced that the singer -songwriter and Ellis will take care of the music of the television adaptation of the book of Nick Cave “The Death of Bunny Munro”, a new Sky Original series in six episodes that will arrive on pay TV by the end of the year. The protagonist will be Matt Smith, also accredited as a producer: the 42 -year -old actor will play Benny Munro’s role.
Cave published “The Death of Benny Munro”, “The death of Benny Munro”, in 2009. He was the second novel by the Australian artist, twenty years after “and the donkey saw the angel”. The history of the book is set in the surroundings of the city of Brighton in 2003, the days following the fire of the famous West pier (West Pier). The protagonist is Bunny Munro, a misogynist obsessed with sex, an self -centered tobagist and cocaineomaniac, perpetually drunk: an anti -hero in continuous search for sexual intercourse, which takes advantage of his profession of seller of door -to -door beauty products.
The book was adapted in a screenplay by the writer Pete Jackson, directed by Isabella Eklöf.
Cave and Ellis recorded the soundtrack in London with their favorite sound technician, Luis Almau.
