New York: Judge doesn’t dismiss Jay-Z’s harassment case

Earlier this month, a woman accused Jay-Z of raping her along with the other rapper P. Diddywhen he was only thirteen years old. The incident dates back to 2000 during a party held after the MTV Music Awards ceremony. Now, a New York judge has rejected the request of Shawn Corey Carter, this is Jay-Z’s real name, to dismiss the case.

In motivating his decision, as reported by Ansa, the judge Analisa Torres criticized the language used by the lawyer Jay-Zcalling it “inappropriate, a waste of judicial resources, and a tactic that is unlikely to help his client.” Torres also ruled that the woman accusing the 55-year-old New York musician can continue to remain anonymous despite efforts by the rapper and record producer’s lawyer to publicly reveal her identity.

Jay-Z he rejected all accusations from the beginning, claiming to be the victim of a blackmail attempt by the woman’s lawyer, Tony Buzbee. On the Instagram channel of his record label, the Rock Nation had posted a long message in which, among other things, he stated: “I’ve done a bit of research on Buzbee, he seems to have a pattern of putting on this type of theatrics.”
