Neil Young returns to tour in Europe, with the new band

Neil Young: the republication of historical records continues

Neil Young continues his official renewal series, with a new chapter dedicated to four classic titles of the 90s. The project, baptized “Official Release Series (Ors)” continues with volume 6 which, out on October 24th for Reprise Records, collects “Harvest Moon”, “Unplugged”, “Sleeps with Angels” and “Mirror Ball”. The latter was remastered by the original analogical masters by John Hanlon and Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. In addition, four songs were remixed by Hanlon and Bellman in the same study (“I’m the Ocean”, “Big Green Countr,” Truth Be Known “,” Throw your Hatred Down “).

“Harvest Moon”, originally published in 1992, opened a new decade in Young music with songs destined to immediately become classics such as the title track, “from Hank to Hendrix” and “One of these days”, including pieces written in the 80s together with new compositions that quickly became among the favorites of the fans, transforming the album into one of the most loved of the abroad. The “Unplugged” album, released in 1993, was initially recorded for a concert by the well -known MTV Unplugged series, with the addition of other live recordings. The Canadian singer -songwriter carefully put a group of musicians with whom he had already played over the years for this special occasion, therefore testified in a record that soon became a collector’s object when the first recordings began to circulate among the fans. “Sleeps with Angels”, published in 1994, built his legend on his own at the time of the release: thanks to songs such as the 14 minutes piece “Change Your Mind” and “Unknown Legen”, he had a particular imprint with the Crazy Horse, which Neil Young obtained the sessions as spontaneous and immediate as possible, allowing songs to take life in real time. The album was also the latest album produced by the longtime collaborator of Young, David Briggs, who passed away in 1995 at just 51 years old. “Mirror Ball”, a double album originally released in 1995, was recorded with Pearl Jam, transforming the exit into an event for the time.
