Neil Young sings a 1977 song live for the first time

Neil Young plays “Silver and Gold” again after years

Neil Young does not execute “Silver and Gold” in concert since 2007, however he chose it as an ideal wish for a happy Christmas season to his fans by publishing a special version of the song on his Instagram account accompanied by a caption that reads: “I send you love”. At the beginning of the month Young had published a long compilation on YouTube as a wish for the holidays.

The first version of the song was written by the Canadian musician in 1981, but it was only released several years later when it was the title track of his twenty-fifth studio album

Of the version he later included on the album, he told KGSR Radio: “I finally went back to the roots, sat down with my guitar, played it and said to myself, ‘This is it.’ Because I love the song, now the I feel and it means something to me.”
