Neil Young, no concert in Ukraine for security reasons

While there was still no scheduled date, but only the announcement of Neil Young Which should have performed free of charge in Ukraine during the year, the singer -songwriter published a communication on his official website to let it know that the show will not be held.

Young had made it known on March 3 that he would keep his first career live in the country. However, the artist has now communicated the cancellation of the event for security reasons. In a new post shared on its site in the last hours, Neil Young:

“Our concert in Ukraine is canceled. We had found a good location, close to a refuge, but the situation in constant change on the field was too risky”.

He added: “I could not, in all conscience, to bring my crew and my tools to that area. I apologize to everyone. Ukraine is a great country with a good leader. Slava Ukraini”.

Young has been a fervent supporter of Ukraine since the Russian invasion of 2022 and has always been very critical of the former president Donald Trump.

The concert in Ukraine should have been held before the next European summer tour with the Chrome Hearts. The tour, which will bring him back to playing in the old continent for the first time from the last concerts of the “Rebel Content Tour” with the Promise of the Real in 2019, will see Neil Young playing with the new band presented last September at Farm Aid, the Chrome Hearts.

With this group, the 79 -year -old artist is therefore ready to undertake the baptized tour “Love Earth World Tour” which will officially start from Europe on June 18 from Rättvik, Sweden. After the conclusion of the European part, on 8 July at the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart, the tour will continue in North America from 8 August from the PNC Music Pavilion in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will end on September 15 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, California.
