Miles Davis, Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel 1965 box release

“The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel 1965”historic live album by Miles Daviswill be republished in the form of a substantial box set on January 30th. It will be available in an edition of 10 vinyls and 8 CDs. According to the press release, the reissue offers an album that has been out of print for thirty years now. A double vinyl with some extracts, titled “Live At the Plugged Nickel: December 23, 1965 – Second Set”will be released on November 28th on the occasion of Record Store Day. Recorded in a Chicago club under a bakery, “The Complete Live at the Plugged Nickel 1965” collects four sets played between December 22 and 23 of that year, with the group known as Davis’ Second Great Quintet, made up of Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter And Tony Williams. The original 1995 Mosaic Records presentation is recreated, the set includes approximately seven hours of music and is accompanied by archive photos and new liner notes by Syd Schwartz.
