Melissa Reese is out of Guns N’ Roses tour
THE Guns N’ Roses they announced that the keyboard player Melissa Reese he will not join the band for the spring tour “due to unforeseen personal reasons”. The band states: “We hope our fans understand.”
Reese joined the Guns N’ Roses in 2016 after being recommended to the band by Bryan “Brain” Mantiathe former drummer of the group with whom he had collaborated on several projects. Melissa Reese she became the first woman to join the band, filling the role of second keyboard player alongside Dizzy Reed and replacing Chris Pitman.
Reese made her live debut with i Guns N’ Roses at the first concert of the tour “Not In This Lifetime…”That was held on April 1, 2016 at the Troubadour in West HollywoodCalifornia. In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine in 2020, the 36-year-old musician from Seattle explained: “Guns are still seen as a male-dominated group, a men’s club where there’s no room for a woman. But you couldn’t ask for a better group. I’m talking about the band itself and everyone we work with. They protect me. They don’t just have my back. We’re like a family, and they’re like my big brothers.”
Clarifying what her position was within the band: “I am to all intents and purposes a member of Guns N’ Roses. It has always been like this, but I feel I haven’t been explicit enough about it. It would be good to clarify it once and for all, so as not to leave room for doubts.”
THE Guns N’ Roses will kick off a massive world tour on March 28th in Monterrey, Mexico. The band led by Axl Rose he will also perform in Europe, but no concerts are planned in Italy.
