Martí Perarnau IV returns to the news with new single from Mucho

“You can dance even when the devil is knocking at your door” is a direct criticism of the political management of Madrid in recent years.“My decision to go to the country was because, like so many other people, Madrid expelled me. I could no longer pay the rent. There is a lot of that in the lyrics of the album. Then I discovered that in the country I am happy, that I get along very well with my loneliness and that I live very well”says Martí Perarnau IVA lot.

With references from the late ’90s and early ‘2000s, where electric guitars converge with drum machines and synthesizers on the dance floor, Mucho passes all of that through a noise gate and a broken speaker. This sound resonates with the leftfield aesthetic of British labels like Short Span or Low’s latest albums. Even so, “you can dance even when the devil is knocking at your door” does not take his eye off his latest works and continues with his dance and pop spirit.

Much is the musical project of Martí Perarnau IV. He has three albums behind him. “Is anyone home?”his now penultimate work, was published in 2019 and tells the story of an entire night in the big city. The influence of electronic music and rave culture on the album is fundamental and all the songs are mixed together as if it were a DJ session. This 2026, after seven years of silence, Much will return with “Can Martí come down to play?”new album available through GOZZ Records next October 23.
