Marshall Allen releases his first solo album at 100 years old

The American musician, who will turn 101 on May 25, will soon release his first solo album, “New Dawn”. The album will be released on February 14th and the announcement of the publication was accompanied by the release of the video for the title track.
Recording of the album, which is described as, “a love letter to spacetime that channels a century of transience and musical transcendence”, began two days after
Marshall Allen he turned 100 years old.
The lyrics of the song “New Dawn” was written by his bandmate Sun Ra Arkestra Knoel Scott and it is sung by Neneh Cherry. Regarding the songs included in the album, the producer Jan Lankisch explained: “Scott knew Marshall better than anyone and his deep understanding of Marshall’s compositions guided the selection of material for the album.”
