With over 16 million copies sold “All I Want for Christmas Is You” Of Mariah Carey it is not only one of the best-known Christmas songs in the world, but it is also in the Top Ten best-selling singles in the history of music.

The song, written by Walter Afanasieff and from the same Mariah Carey arrived in record stores on October 29, 1994 and was part of the singer’s fourth album “Merry Christmas”. In the USA at the time it was not officially released as a single and therefore did not enter the Billboard Hot 100. It reached the top of the American chart only in December 2019. Since then in the United States it has entered the chart every year and in 2022 it reached the number one position for the third time, the first song in the history of the stars and stripes chart to reach the top in three different years.

In the famous video of the song (which to date has over 780 million views) Santa Claus is played by Tommy Mottolathe singer’s husband at the time and CEO of Sony Music.
