The decision arises from the need to get away from the continuous attention of the media, to find freedom in daily life.

According to the artist, fame has made it increasingly difficult to live the simplest moments of the day with serenity. Mahmood explained that he often feels observed or filmed while walking down the street, eating or going out at night. This constant exposure led him to experience a feeling of discomfort, so much so that he compared himself to “a white tiger at the zoo“, always under everyone’s eyes. For this reason, Spain represents a place where you can move again with greater anonymity.

The transfer will be accompanied by a important choice for his career: no concerts or musical releases are planned during 2026. Mahmood said he needed real time to stop, reflect and understand which artistic direction to take in the future. The goal is to find inspiration again and return to creating music with a new perspective.
