Litfiba, “17 kings” – the song – is released after 40 years

Forty years of waiting, and finally on Friday 17 April LITFIBA (Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi, Gianni Maroccolo) will release “17 RE”, the song that gave the title to the album published in 1986 but which, although recorded, was excluded from the tracklist because at that time it was not considered in line with the rest of the album. In addition to the digital version, from Friday 24 April the numbered green Maxi Single Vinyl version will be available on the Sony Music Store.

The occasion for this publication is the celebrations for the forty years of “17 KINGS”a cult album that will return to stages throughout Italy starting from June 27th thanks to Forty years of ’17 Re’ – tour 2026”.

Speaking about the song, Piero Pelù says:

“The relevance of “17RE” is impressive. It was discarded from the track list of the album of the same name 40 years ago and today it comes out with a straight leg and updated to tell the story of the ruthlessness of the global King Kongs in the control rooms, deserving only of a shah-mat, the checkmate of Persian culture”.

The “FORTY YEARS OF 17 RE” tour will see the LITFIBA of the 80s engaged in the original line-up composed of Piero Pelù, Ghigo Renzulli, Antonio Aiazzi and Gianni Maroccolo (line-up that had performed together for the last time on 27 July 2014 on the stage of the Traffic Festival in Turin) to which is added the now consolidated Luca “Mitraglia” Martelli on drums, for only 20 dates which from June 27th to August 15th will take the band around Italy.

The band will give a small preview of the tour (for which over 70,000 thousand tickets have already been sold) next May 1st on the concert stage in Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano in Rome.
