“From zero”: what Linkin Park sounds like without Chester Bennington

Linkin Park, triumphant return: first in five US charts

Linkin Park’s return is proving to be a triumph. “From zero”, the album which in all respects marked the rebirth of the band seven years after “One more light” and the premature death of Chester Bennington, climbs the sales charts in the USA and grinds out interesting numbers. According to data from Luminate, which monitors record sales overseas, in the first week after its release – which took place on November 15th – the album that Mike Shinoda and his companions recorded together with the new singer Emily Armstrong sold the equivalent of 96,700 thousand copies between physical sales, downloads and streams. 74% are physical copies: CDs and vinyl records recorded sales of 72 thousand units for “From Zero”.

These numbers allowed “From Zero” to debut at the top of five different charts developed by Billboard: Top Rock & Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, Top Alternative Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums and Vinyl Albums. However, “From Zero” came close to reaching the top of the Billboard 200, the chart of the best-selling records of the week: it had to settle for second place behind “Golden Hour (pt. 2)” by Ateez, a South Korean boy band.

And now the anticipation for the tour is growing. On December 12th Linkin Park will be in concert in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Then between January and February they will be in Mexico, Japan, Indonesia. The US arena tour will begin in April. They will arrive in Europe in the summer: on June 12th they will be on stage at Nickeldorsf, in Austria, while in Italy they will arrive on June 24th on the stage of the i-Days in Milan.
