“I feel like this album in particular is the culmination of a certain ethical and idealistic line that I’ve managed to maintain for many years. I’m really excited about this work.”
In addition to the iconic collaborative album with Stevie Nicks, 1973’s “Buckingham Nicks”, which predates their joining Fleetwood Mac and recently returned to stores, Lindsey Buckingham has released seven solo albums so farstarting from “Law and order” in 1981 up to the eponymous 2021, released four years after the album with Christine McVie, the singer and keyboardist of the “Rumors” group who passed away on November 30, 2022 at the age of 79.
In an interview for “Classic Rock” about his latest work, reflecting on his solo activity, Buckingham said: “I think a lot of my solo work, as a whole, is a little more outside the box compared to what we generally proposed in Fleetwood Mac. When I was making ‘Lindsey Buckingham’ there was a sort of conscious interest in returning to the first points of reference, the ones less related to defining myself as the counterpoint of the band. It encompasses everything I learned from taking that path, but it also reconnects with the older parts of myself as they were in Fleetwood Mac.”
