Liam Gallagher’s favorite Christmas song
In a series of questions and answers with fans on X/Twitter, the always active and friendly Liam Gallagher revealed what his Christmas song is. A few evenings ago, the Oasis singer was asked by a user his favorite Christmas classic. “‘Last Christmas’ by Wham!”, was Liam’s response.
The song, which turns forty this year, has not always been the youngest Gallagher’s favourite. One fan, in fact, pointed out that he was surprised that Liam didn’t choose John Lennon’s “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)”. The “Wonderwall” frontman has always been such a fan of the former Beatle’s song that he once almost came to blows with his older brother Noel when discussing the best Christmas song of all time.
As revealed by Noel Gallagher in 2022, the brothers had argued years earlier while in a bar: “It ended up being a violent argument: him saying John Lennon’s song ‘War Is Over’ is the best Christmas song of all times and I was like, ‘It’s ‘Merry Christmas Everybody’ by Slade. The argument got so heated that people had to chime in: ‘Do you want to start a fight over a Christmas song?'”
