Levante: “If I won Sanremo, I wouldn’t go to Eurovision”
The victory of Sanremo Festivalas we now know, automatically involves an invitation toEurovision Song Contest. For some artists, however, it is more of a burden than an honor. Levant for example, he made it known that, in the event of victory at the Ariston, he would not go to Eurovision – for a very specific reason.
On the sidelines of the press conference to present the return to Sanremo, Levante declared:
If I won the Festival, I wouldn’t participate in Eurovision. It is a much more politicized demonstration than one might think and, since there is a country involved which in recent times has created gigantic dramas and an ongoing genocide, one cannot ignore it. I’ve never done it. I can’t make it to the thief’s house.
Levante is certainly not the only one to think this way: in recent months there has been a flood of flat rates from various countries that have chosen to boycott Eurovision due to the presence of Israel.
