Laura Pausini reveals the covers of “Io canto 2”. But Grignani…

The Milanese singer-songwriter had said he was ready to sue the singer, accusing her of having changed the lyrics of his song without first obtaining the necessary permission to do so. In the end the matter ended last November with an agreement between the two parties (the details of which, however, were not disclosed). In the edition of “Io canto 2” intended for the Italian market, “La mia storia tra le dita” is curiously present in its version in Portuguese language“Quem de nós dois”, originally recorded by the Portuguese singer-songwriter Ana Carolina in 2001: with Pausini there will be an exceptional partner – or partner, whose name, however, has not been revealed. Could it be Grignani himself? In the edition of the album intended for the Spanish market, “La mia storia tra le dita” is instead present in his Spanish version“Mi historia entre tus dedos”.

Laura Pausini’s cover of “La mia storia tra le dita” was published last September 12th, also accompanied by the related video clip. In the press release issued to reveal the tracklist of “Io canto 2” and its release date there is no mention of the cover published last September, while it is underlined that “La mia storia tra le dita” is to be considered apreview and how the first official single from the album is the cover of “I return to love” by Biagio Antonacci. A preview, for the record, was also the cover of “Tourist” Of Bad Bunnywhich however appears in the edition of the album for the Spanish market.

In addition to that of Antonacci, the Italian version of “Io canto 2” will include covers by Umberto Tozzi (“Immenmente”), Achille Lauro (“16 March”, presumably in duet with the same Roman singer-songwriter), Zucchero (“You chose me”), Madonna (“La isla bonita”), Georgie (“And then”), Nada (“But how cold it is”), Vasco Rossi (“One Sense”), Loredana Bertè (“I am not a lady”), Marco Masini (“We would like the sea”), Marco Mengoni (“La dernière chanson”, French version of “Two Lives”) e Gino Paoli (“Wenn du an Wunder glaubst”, German-language version of “The Sky in a Room”).

Pausini will pay homage to Lucio Dalla with “Felicità”, a virtual duet with the late Bolognese singer-songwriter. He will sing “Details” by Ornella Vanoni. A tribute also to Pino Daniele with “Quanno chiove”. The singer has signed a Portuguese adaptation of Gino Paoli’s “Il cielo in una stanza”, “O céu inside de um quarto”, which will be included in the deluxe edition of the album together with the one in Italian and the one in English (“This world we love in”). The deluxe edition also includes a cover of “Fratello sole, sister luna” by Claudio Baglioni.

The edition for the Spanish market, in addition to the cover of “Turista” by Bad Bunny, will also include a cover of “Livin’ la vida loca” by Ricky Martin and a Spanish-language version of “Non sono una donna” (“No soy una señora”) and one of “When a love is born” by Anna Oxa (“Cuando nacen amores”).
