Kiss: death of Ace Frehley, the reactions of the band members

It is to a press release shared with the media by Kiss, who founded together with him in 1973, that Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley entrusted their reactions to the news of Ace Frehley’s death. The founding member of the “I Was Made to Lovin’ You” group, who left Kiss in 2002, died tonight at the age of 74. At the end of September, Frehley had to cancel a concert due to a fall at his home in Morristown, New Jersey, and was then hospitalized.

“We are devastated by the passing of Ace Frehley. He was an essential and irreplaceable rock soldier during some of the most formative and foundational chapters of the band and its history. He is and will forever be part of Kiss’ legacy. Our thoughts are with Jeanette (the wife, ed.), Monique (the daughter, ed.) and with all those who loved him, including our fans around the world”, wrote Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, 76 years old the first and 73 the second, in the note.

Simmons then also wanted to share a thought on X: “Our hearts are broken. Ace is gone. No one can touch his legacy. I know he loved the fans. He told me this many times. But what’s even sadder is that Ace didn’t live long enough to be honored at the Kennedy Center Honors event in December. Ace was the eternal soldier of rock. May his legacy live long.”
