Kiss, complete reunion of the latest lineup in Las Vegas

The last full Kiss lineup will be there for the band’s two reunion concerts in Las Vegas next weekend. Titled “Unmasked”, they will be one acoustic and one electric and will be held from November 14th to 16th at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas, as part of an event that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Kiss Army, the group’s official fan club. Eric Singer will join Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Tommy Thayer thus completing the band’s latest lineup: will the first appearance on a stage of the lineup of “I was made for lovin’ you” after the farewell tour which ends at the end of 2023. Singer will also participate in a fan meet and greet with Simmons, Stanley and Thayer, as well as a “Name That Tune” music game with Thayer. During the weekend, tribute will also be paid to the group’s original guitarist, Ace Frehley, who passed away last month and who left the band twice, first in ’82 before rejoining the group in 1996 and leaving the band again in 2002.

“We said no more tours, and we will keep our promise,” said Gene Simmons, explaining the choice to appear in this context: “The fans are organizing it, the Kiss Army, in November: it will be a real reunion of the tribes.
We promised that we would never tour again, and we will keep that promise. We’ll go on stage and play a few songs. There will be friends, surprise guests, question and answer sessions. It will be a way to stay close to the fans, because, clearly, without them today I would be asking the next person in line: ‘How do you want your chips?'”.

Gene Simmons and his bandmates will perform”without mask” during “Kiss Army Storms Vegas”:

Over the years we have toured without makeup. For example, in the 80s: we released some records in that period, while the band members changed. Ace Frehley and Peter Criss have been in and out of the band three times, if you think about it. No other band would give someone so many chances – or even life, for that matter. So, Ace and Peter, God bless them, have been in and out of KISS three times, and when the new members came in, we thought, ‘Why not take the makeup off?’ In hindsight, it didn’t matter. People wanted the makeup and those songs. When you get too involved in something you think, ‘These are the rules.’ But start a band just so you don’t have rules. We had successful tours, platinum records and everything else even without makeup“.
