Kirk Hammett of Metallica tells his guitars in a book
Kirk Hammettthe guitarist of Metalannounced his new table book, “The collection: Kirk Hammett“, published by Gibson. This book explores its vast collection of guitars and includes exclusive interviews with Hammett and new photos taken by the official photographer of the band, Ross Halfin.
The news of the release of the book was shared in a video on YouTube narrated by the actor Jason Momoaknown for his roles in “Aquaman” and “Game of Thrones”.
Among the tools treated in the book there is ‘Greeny’, a 1959 Gibson Les Paul previously owned by Peter Green of the Fleetwood Mac and the late Gary Moore.
Hammett expresses his enthusiasm for the project, underlining the importance of guitars and the work done together with Gibson to create this collection. The president of Gibson, Cesar Gueikian, confirmed the team’s commitment in the creation of the book, which represents a journey through the history and art of Hammett’s guitars. The book is already available for order.
Hammett has about 150 guitars, many of which uses during the tours and has revealed that it has spent up to half a million dollars for some instruments, such as for ‘Greeny’, the guitar of Peter Green.
His friend Jerry Cantrell, Alice in Chains guitarist, confirmed this high expense.
Metallica are preparing to leave for their North American tour in 2025, with the support of bands such as Limp Bizkit, Ice Nine Kills, Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies in different dates.
