Kim Gordon: second single from the new album arriving in March
The former Sonic Youth Kim Gordon released “I’m a Man”, the new single from his second solo album, “The Collective” (to be released March 8 by Matador Records).
With a song with dark sounds Gordon reflects on the lost role of “traditional masculinity” and the role of capitalism in its demise.
A video was also released upon the release of “I’m a Man”, the perfect visual accompaniment to the expressive lyrics and pulsating sound of the song.
The video, starring Coco Gordon Moore (daughter of Kim and her ex-husband Thurston Moore guitarist and singer of Sonic Youth) and model Conor Fay, was directed by the director Alex Ross Perrybest known for writing and directing films “Listen Up Philip” And “Her Smell”.
Last month, Gordon published “Bye Bye” the first single of the upcoming album. Also in this case the video, directed by the photographer and director Clara Balzary, was interpreted by Coco Gordon Moore. The video was , with photography by Christopher Blauvelt.
Recorded in his native Los Angeles, “The Collective”, the new album by Kim Gordon, follows her 2019 debut full-length “No Home Records” and continues his collaboration with the manufacturer Justin Raisen (Lil Yachty, John Cale, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Charli XCX, Yves Tumor), with additional production by Anthony Paul Lopez.
