Kekko from Modà: “Those who laugh at me are idiots”
Kekko Silvestre returns to 22nd place at Sanremo Festival 2025 with the song “Non ti dimentico”, the song that had divided the public and the press. According to the voting data, the televoting had rewarded i Fashionwhile the press had penalized them: after the first evening the group was 25th for the jury of the press room, TV and web, while after the second evening for the radio jury 13th out of 14 competing artists. The televoting, however, had placed Modà in fifth place.
We were fifth in the televoting, so I said come on, let’s play for it. Then the rankings come out: radio, last. Print, last. And my daughter starts crying saying, ‘Why? Why do they do these things to you dad?’. And how do I explain this to a 13 year old girl? It’s difficult to explain that many times those idiots don’t realize that behind that vote, which they use as a weapon instead of to evaluate, there are feelings, threads, sacrifices. I had retired to Tenerife with depression, they came to pick me up and I got back on my feet. And they laugh at you as if nothing had happened, as they did with Ultimo, with Il Volo, thinking they’re cool. Instead they are complete assholes.
“Does my music disgust you? Yes, ok perfect. Does my song disgust you? Ok, perfect. Am I out of tune? No. You can’t give me zero. That’s what I say. If you give me zero, it’s because you’re an idiot” concludes Silvestre, who had already written on social media at the end of the Sanremo experience: “Unfortunately we left this Festival defeated and with broken bones, in every sense, and obviously we are very saddened. Defeat, being a competition, we accept, but I don’t accept being humiliated in front of our fans, as if we were someone’s enemy for reasons we don’t even know.”
On the evening of duets and covers, Modà, according to the radio jury, deserved 24th place, the same position according to the press room, TV and web jury, while the televoting had placed them in 14th place. The same happened during the final evening of Sanremo 2025 and the frontman published the screenshots of the results of the votes of the two juries on Instagram, where Modà were in 28th place in both.
