Juli takes Coez back to basics

Juli returns to publish under his own name “Quelli come me”, the new single released together with Coez. An release that marks a new chapter in the path of producerfor years among the most present on the Italian scene, with 34 Platinum records, 28 Gold records and over a billion total streams. After a period focused on live and studio work with Ollywith whom he built a real goalscoring duo, Juli resumes building singles with her signature on display, continuing a path already started in 2023 with “Hovò di te” together with Emma Marrone and Olly. A song that had intercepted the summer moment, but which remained lighter and more obvious in its impact. As well as OllyJuli has worked with other “number ones”: he is among the composers and producers of the multi-platinum single “L’ultima Politica” by Ultimo and Geolier. More recently, he produced “Bella really”, a song written by Last.

“Those like me” works in a different direction than “I want you”. The piece brings Coez back into a more essential territory, close to that songwriting that defined his identity and made him famous: simple structures, centrality of writing, attention to melody. A return that also deviates from the more pop-rock and vintage atmospheres of the latest work “1998”to put words and interpretation back at the center. Here one of the most recognizable elements of Juli’s work clearly emerges: the construction of songs designed to be sharedsAnd. Not just songs to listen to, but to sing along. A collective dimension that runs through much of his production, also evident in the collaborations with Olly, who returns in this case too, both in the writing and in the emotional structure of the piece. “Those like me” moves precisely along this line: an intimate story that however opens up to “us”, transforming a personal experience into something recognizable and shareable. Is this a piece that will lead to a producer album?
