Joy Division and Foals on the soundtrack of the “The Crow” reboot
A few days before the arrival in Italian cinemas, scheduled for next August 28 (five days after the release in the United States and the United Kingdom), of the new reboot of the film “The Crow“, it was revealed tracklist of its soundtrack.
According to “The AV Club”, the controversial new film, a modern remake of the 1994 cult film based on the comic book of the same name by James O’Barr, will include songs by – among others – Joy Division, Gary Numan, Enya and Foals. The film adaptation starring the late Brandon Lee also featured heavy, gothic-sounding music, with songs by the likes of The Cure, Pantera and Nine Inch Nails.
The new reboot of “The Crow” by Rupert Sanders, anticipated in March by a trailer with the song “Take What You Want” by Post Malone with Ozzy Osbourne in the background, sees as protagonists Bill Skarsgård as Eric Dravensinger-songwriter FKA twigs as Shelly and Danny Huston as Vincent Roeg.
The new film is in development since late 2008 and since its announcement has attracted a fair amount of controversy and skepticism. The 1994 feature film, considered untouchable and on whose set the lead actor Brandon Lee lost his life, is a film that has become a cult over the years with a strong rock, dark and metal musical component both in the soundtrack and in the setting and costumes, which according to many could be betrayed by this new project.
Here is the tracklist of the soundtrack of “The Crow” from 1994:
- Debussy – From the Snow
- Joy Division – Disorder
- The Bug feat. Inga Copeland – Fall
- Traits – Thin Flesh
- Landr – The Killer
- Gary Numan – ME
- The Veils – Total Depravity
