Jova's energy, the pride of the Wet Leg: the outgoing records

Jova’s energy, the pride of the Wet Leg: the outgoing records

From the contagious energy of Jovanotti to the post-punk pride of the Wet Leg, passing through the return of Amy Macdonald, the unforgettable and enchanting voice of “This is the Life”: the record releases of this week aim to satisfy all musical palates, from new generation pop to classic pop, up to jazz in Afrobeat sauce and folk rock made in Scotland.

Burno Boy – “No sign of weakness”

Burno Boy, global superstar and winner of a Grammy, continues the countdown for his highly anticipated eighth studio album. The collection received acclaim from criticism for the songs already released, including “Sweet Love”, a romantic trace with a reggae flavor, “Update” a hymn and “Bundle by Bundle” quickly became one of the favorites by the fans. Impossible not to mention “Tatato”, in collaboration with Travis Scott. This spring, Burno made history becoming the first star on the cover of Billboard France, in conjunction with his Sold-Out concert at the Stade de France, becoming the first African artist to perform as headliners in that location.

Amy MacDonald – “Is this What You’ve Been Waiting for?”

Amy MacDonald’s gift? The creation of positive and edifying songs with struggles and hopes in the center. This talent has attracted a huge audience, talent that produced five albums that entered the top 5 throughout Europe (including a #1 in the United Kingdom and two in Germany), with over 12 million sales, 12 international platinum certifications and over a billion stream. Amy is also a live force, having played for more than 5 million people around the world. On 11 July a new chapter of his record journey will be released.

Wet Leg – “Moisturizer”

The cover of “Moisturizer”, the new album of the Post Punk band says a lot: a Freak party in which Chambers and Teasdale shows off long macabre and teasdale claws, which wears long kitsch socks and has no eyebrow, smiles diabolically to the camera. The artwork perfectly reflects the album: “Moisturizer” is the band that raises the volume and gives us a record that is undoubtedly more daring, powerful and brazen. If success creates a crossroads for any new band – “becoming pop” or continuing to follow their way – the wet legs have decisively chosen the second path as also demonstrates the decision to work again with Dan Carey as producer, a genius already at work with bands such as the Fontaines DC.In March 2024 The training moved to Southwold to write: living, working all day and watching all day. Nights, they soon found a new creative symbiosis and consequently all members of the Wet Legs are authors of the songs of “Moisturizer”.

Jovanotti – “Jova! Live! Love! Palajova 2025”

While on radio the single “Eyes at Heart” goes crazy, Jovanotti sends the live album “Jova! Live! Love! Palajova 2025” in the shops, the live album that revives the emotions and energy of the concerts in the buildings that throughout spring have seen the eternal lucky boy of Italian music collect sold out from north to south of the peninsula. The disc is the first live published by Jovanotti in over ten years. Twelve, to be exact: the last, “Lorenzo in the stadiums – Backup Tour 2013”, came out precisely in 2013. Registered right during the dates of the tour “Jova! Live! Love! Palajova 2025” is a sort of Best of consisting of 27 iconic songs taken from the career of Lorenzo Cherubini: from “The greatest show after the big bang” to “magical girl”, passing through the same “lucky boy”. But also more recent hits as “a world apart” and the single “eyes at heart”. The disc is available in two formats: triple LP and double CD.

Kokoroko – “Tuff Times Never Last”

Have you ever heard of the Kokoroko? If the answer is no, you would do better to recover and “Tuff Times Never Last”, their new album, is an excellent opportunity to take advantage of it. The London sextet led by Sheila Maurice-Gygy and Onome Edgeworth conquered world criticism by proposing a very original fusion of jazz and Afrobeat. It was 2018 when one of their songs, “Abusey Junction”, conquered over 50 million views on Youtube thanks to word of mouth, pushing the insiders to discover something more on the Kokoroko. In 2019 the Guardian appointed them “Artists to keep an eye on”. In recent years the sextet has respected the promises, consecrating itself as one of the most interesting formations of the world jazz scene. Now this new album arrives, presented as “A collection of lively and vibrant songs that remind us with optimism to forcefully embrace the numerous dualities that characterize life”. Among the themes of the songs “Union, the community, sensuality, childhood, loss and, above all, perseverance”.

Noah cyrus – “I want my love one one to go with me”

Miley Cyrus’s little sister is back, three years after the debut of 2022 with “The Hardest Part”. The release of the new album of Noah Cyrus, born in 2000, smaller than the 8 -year -old sister, was accompanied by a lot of gossip. All the fault of the first single extracted from the album, “Don’t put it all on me”, the result of the collaboration with the Fleet Foxes’ Indie Rock band: in the song he alluded to the events of his family, starting from the divorce between his dad Billy Ray Cyrus and his mother Tish and the turbulence unleashed by the event. Now Noah aims to make music speak. And on paper, the album promises well: the songwriter included the songwriter with Mike Crossey (known to most for having launched the Arctic Monkeys, as well as producing the records of 1975, Twenty One Pilots, Foals, Keane, Jake Bugg, Wolf Alice and Yungblud), as well as with PJ harding. Blake Shelton and Bill Callahan also took part in the processes.
