Taylor Swift: 50,000 Non-Paying Visitors to Her Concerts in Monaco

Joe Elliott: “Taylor Swift is bigger than the Beatles and the Stones”

In an interview given to the Los Angeles Times the frontman of Def LeppardJoe Elliott recalled when in 2008 a very young Taylor Swift played with the British band. The 65-year-old Elliott even compared it to Beatles And Rolling Stones.

Here are his words reported by the American newspaper: “You look at it now and in a way it makes sense. But if you think back to 2008, there was nothing like what she achieved. I know some people who were there when the Beatles and the Stones came along who might say, ‘Wait a minute…’, but for people born in this century or in the 1990s, this is a phenomenon that has never been seen before, technically bigger than the Beatles and the Stones put together, at least commercially.”

He then went on to further elaborate on his point of view on
Taylor Swift
: “It’s crazy, the amount of tickets she sells. But I always knew she was going to be great. Despite all the hardships she’s faced, the people who have tried to trip her up over the years in certain parts of her career, she’s just picked herself up. She’s a fantastic role model for a generation of kids.”
