The guitarist Martin Barre he was a key member of the Jethro Tullat least until he served there. In an interview with Guitarist, Barre looked back to the early Seventies and talked about how the guitarist of Led Zeppelin Jimmy Page almost ruined ‘s famous guitar solo “Aqualung”.

This is the story told by Martin Barre: “The solo was done on the fly.

I think there were two rehearsals, and if I hadn’t done it in two, there would have been a flute solo. But that’s when Jimmy Page, who was recording with Led Zeppelin in the basement of Basing Street Studios, came over to say hello. He was at the control room window waving frantically. I was in the middle of the solo and I thought, ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t stop.’ And I didn’t. I simply turned away. Which was a little rude. But that was the ‘Aqualung’ solo.”

The song “Aqualung” is the first in the tracklist of the eponymous fourth album released by Jethro Tull in 1971. It is the British group’s best-selling album and, in addition to the title track, contains other classics such as “Crossed-Eye Mary”, “Mother Goose”,“Locomotives Breath” And “Cheap Day Return”. In Italy the album reached second position in the sales charts.
