Jane’s Addiction are back in the studio
Are Jane’s Addiction working on new music? It sounds like it, but without frontman Perry Farrell. The band has had a tumultuous 2024. After reuniting with their original lineup, composed of singer Farrell, guitarist Dave Navarro, drummer Stephen Perkins and bassist Eric Avery, they released new music together after 34 years, it is the single “Imminent Redemption”.
However, during a show in Boston during their North American tour last September, Farrell punched Navarro in the face, leading to the immediate cancellation of the tour and the band’s hiatus due to “a pattern of inappropriate behavior due to difficulties in mental health,” the reference was obviously to Farrell Now, it seems that Navarro, Avery and Perkins could get back together again, making music in a video posted on Instagram by Avery in which he tagged his bandmates, the bassist ha said, “I’m writing more new lines for some of Stephens’ percussion. I can’t wait to have a little Mr Navarro to spice it up. 2025!”. The post was later shared by Perkins, but no further information was released. Navarro and Avery formed the band Deconstruction in 1993 after the initial breakup of Jane’s, so it’s possible the musicians are, in fact, referring to to a potential revival of that group.
