James Hetfield as a sheriff in the film ‘The Thicket’

Last year, news broke that Metallica’s James Hetfield would be returning to the big screen after his 2019 film debut. The film the “Kill ‘Em All” band’s frontman is starring in is director Elliott Lester’s new feature film “The Thicket,” with Christopher Kelley writing. Now, images from the film, described as a “dark western,” have been shared, featuring Hetfield as a sheriff.

The film, coming to theaters on September 6, is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Joe R. Lansdale. The cast includes big names in cinema such as Peter Dinklage (“Game Of Thrones”) and Juliette Lewis (“Yellowjackets”), together with Esmé Creed-Miles (“Hanna”), Levon Hawke (“The Crowded Room”), Leslie Grace (“In The Heights”), Gbenga Akinnagbe (“The Old Man”), Macon Blair (“I Care A Lot”), Ned Dennehy (“Peaky Blinders”), Andrew Schulz (“Infamous”), Arliss Howard (“Mank”).

James Hetfield made his debut in the film about serial killer Ted Bundy, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile” in 2019. The first images of the feature film arrive while the musician is busy with Metallica on tour in support of their latest album “72 Seasons”, which last May 29 also stopped for a concert in Milan (here is our story).
