Inside the show that Bad Bunny will bring to Italy
Anyone expecting a simple concert built around the hits risks being surprised. From the first dates of the “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS World Tour” by Bad Bunny, staged between Barcelona and Madrid, a more ambitious and complex show emerges than the ones the singer has accustomed us to in the past, conceived as a tribute to Puerto Rican culture and the imagery of his latest very successful album. Bad Bunny will be in Italy on 17 and 18 July at the Ippodromo La Maura in Milan, both dates are sold out: almost 160 thousand tickets sold. The last passage was in 2019, but that of that time was a Bad Bunny very different from that of today, both on a musical and perception level: with “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, this is his real name, it conveyed a political message of independence and freedom in a complex period of American history, a claim that found one of its visual and scenographic peaks at the Super Bowl halftime show.
The first big spoiler of the Conejo Malo tour concerns the structure. In fact, at the center of the show, at a certain point, he appears The Casitathe reproduction of a traditional Puerto Rican house which not only represents an aesthetic element, but which becomes a real second scene. In a precise moment, the artist moves there (Chiara Ferragni also appeared among the guests in Madrid; ), transforming the atmosphere of the stadium or arena into something more community, almost a neighborhood party carried out in front of tens of thousands of people. Another surprise is the strong presence of live music, which is not at all obvious. While maintaining all the power of his reggaeton and trap repertoire, Bad Bunny is accompanied by a band which enriches many songs with percussion, wind instruments and arrangements that recall salsa and the South American musical tradition. An element that distinguishes this tour from many great contemporary urban showsoften built almost exclusively on bases and sequences. Even the structure of the concert seems to have been designed as a journey. The show it alternates high intensity moments, dedicated to great successes, with more narrative and nostalgic passages linked to the themes of “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS PHOTOS”.
The result is a show that often changes skin during the evening, moving from unbridled perreo to more reflective moments. So it won’t be a greatest hits album and that’s it. As regards the lineup, however, Italian fans can rest assured. Alongside the songs from the latest album, there are many of the songs that made Bad Bunny a global superstar: from “Tití Me Preguntó” to “Callaíta”, passing through “Yo Perreo Sola”, “Safaera”, “DÁKITI”, “Yonaguni” and “Monaco”. A journey that spans practically his entire career. The surprise factor is not excluded either. On the Spanish dates guests such as Luar La L and other artists from the Puerto Rican scene took to the stagefueling the idea that each concert can have unique moments that are slightly different from the others. Finally, a detail that is not a detail: duration. The first European dates were well over two and a half hours, almost three hours of show. An aspect that is praised in some reviews, while in others highlighted as a possible point of weakness because it automatically generates moments of tiredness and a physiological drop in intensity.
