How Much Does Taylor Swift’s Support for Kamala Harris Impact the Vote?

According to a new poll, support for Taylor Swift Kamala Harris did not influence voters’ opinion on the 2024 presidential election.

According to an ABC News/Ipsos report published by The Hill, 81 percent of voters surveyed said Swift’s endorsement of Vice President Harris would not affect their vote. Only 6 percent said they were more likely to vote for Harris after Swift’s post, while 13 percent said they were less likely to do so.

Swift took to social media last week to express her support for Harris’ campaign. Swift expressed her admiration for Harris, calling her a “steadfast and gifted leader” and a “warrior” for causes like LGBTQ+ rights and women’s reproductive freedom. She also criticized Donald Trump for posting fake AI images that falsely suggested she supported him.

“It really brought to mind my fears about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” she said of the doctored images. “It made me realize that I need to be very transparent about my real plans for this election as a voter. The easiest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”

Swift signed off her Instagram post as “Childless Cat Lady,” aimed at Trump’s vice presidential nominee JD Vance, who used the description to belittle childless Democratic leaders.
