How Gene Simmons of Kiss is doing after car accident
On October 7, Gene Simmons of Kiss crashed his Lincoln Navigator SUV on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. According to what was reported by “NBC4 Los Angeles”, the bassist told sheriff’s deputies that he passed out or lost consciousness while he was behind the wheel. According to some eyewitnesses, Simmons’ car skidded across several lanes of traffic before hitting a parked vehicle. The musician was then rushed to hospital, but fortunately was discharged quickly. His wife, Shannon, told reporters that the fainting spell was caused by dehydration due to recent changes in drug therapy, and that the bassist is now recovering at home.
“Thank you all for the loving messages,” Simmons wrote on X/Twitter:
“I’m fine. I had a little accident. It happens. Especially to those of us who are bad drivers. And I am. All good.”
Still on his official social profile, Gene Simmons then shared some memes or messages after the accident and the message in which he confirmed that he was fine:
The incident occurred a month after Kiss returned to the stage for two performances without makeup, almost two years after their farewell tour concluded with a double date at New York’s Madison Square Garden. The event, scheduled at the Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas from 14 to 16 November, includes two performances without makeup by Simmons, Stanley and Tommy Thayer, one acoustic and one electric. The producer Bob Ezrin and the photographer Lynn Goldsmith will also be present, as well as the band Kuarantine of the former Kiss guitarist Bruce Kulick, and then again Quiet Riot, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt, Black N Blue and Sebastian Bach. Former Kiss guitarist Ace Frehley, however, will not participate in the event.
