Harry Styles: unreleased song dedicated to Italy at the premiere of the tour
The many months spent in Italy, in Rome, inspired Harry Styles to the point of leading him to compose a song dedicated to our country. It’s called “Italian girls” and the former One Direction presented it as a surprise last Saturday on the occasion of the first date of his new, highly anticipated tour, “Together, together”, which started from the Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Here is the video of the song, surprisingly included in the setlist:
It’s not really a song, but an instrumental piece that Harry Styles performed before starting “American girls”. Over a long instrumental section built on synthesizers and disco-pop atmospheres, the British singer-songwriter shouted some incomprehensible phrases, before moving on to “American girls”.
In addition to the unreleased song, Styles played ten of the twelve songs contained in “Kiss al the time. Disco, occasionally”, his latest album, released last March: the aforementioned “American girls”, “Aperture”, “Are you listening yet?”, “Carla’s song”, “Coming up roses”, “Dance no more”, “Pop”, “Ready, steady, go!”, “Season 2 weight loss” and “Taste back”. The setlist also includes “As it was”, “Keep driving”, “Matilda” and “Music for a sushi restaurant” (from “Harry’s House”), “Adore you”, “Fine line”, “Golden”, “Treat people with kindness” and “Watermelon sugar” (from “Fine line”). The only song taken from “Harry Styles”, his 2017 eponymous debut album, was “Sign of the times”.
Harry Styles will be on stage in Amsterdam until June 5th. Then he will perform in London (12 dates at Wembley Stadium), in Sao Paulo in Brazil (four dates at the Estádio do MorumBIS), in Mexico City. From August 26th to October 31st he will be the protagonist of a 30-date residency at Madison Square Garden in New York.
