“‘Visceral’ is the result of a need to go back to writing, free, to be directed beyond expectations and judgments, before the personal brakes, as from the bowels, how to be at home”, tells half -bait in presenting his new album. It is a record that affects the face, which faces the pressures and expectations of the public, highlighting the weight of external opinions, and, in its being born without bridle and without projects at the base, it is also an intrinsic symbol of artistic freedom. The musical journey is orchestrated by Yazee, G-Laspada, Verano, Mr. Monkey and by the masked rapper himself. It is a dense, authentic album, under the flag of an open underground spirit, never closed in itself, and above all wild. It is like a ferocious beast that cannot be tamed. This is an album evidently the son of a path. Did you want to go back to something primordial?
For the first time it is a project that I have not thought. He was born from sessions with several producers, I did not develop a concept before the songs. I let the songs come out freely. Then, putting them together to understand what they were saying to me, I realized I was in front of what I am today.

Meaning what?
Visceral. It is the word that characterizes me most and that has always characterized me. A depth in height. A belly force. That’s what I’ve always been.

Did you want to recover the instinct in making music?
Yes, I wanted to travel away from the constructs that are generated in their heads. I wanted to give space to the belly.

What did you find out by going or returning in depth?
That I enjoy more. The pleasure of going to make direct music generates beauty. And this album was moved by the constant search for beauty.

It is a very angry album. Is the cover sitting with you, in a moment of calm, with a dog, is it a liar?
The cover represents my inner moment, not so much of peace, as of security. It’s like saying: I sit down and deal with myself. Some interpreted it in an interesting way, like a photograph of the “calm before the storm”. Safety derives from the pleasure of carrying out projects like this.

Even at the writing level you have been freer?
It was different. I just said to myself: throws out what you have inside and tells what you are interested in. “You know if”, for example, reflects on conspiracy and the consequences it has on society. He was born talking to my friends. At the end of the speech, I said to myself: “I want to dissect this topic”. No song was thought before, at the table.

Is this an album more than “I” or more than “us”?
Halfway through the album I thought there was more “I”, but we are in a hyper-contemporary world, so the social context cannot be excluded. The album starts with “Visceral”, which is a criticism of the sometimes superficial gaze of the public, “Idiocracy” is an attack on the scene, “Kenny Wells”, which is inspired by the character of the film “Gold – The great scam”, closes the circle a little. In the latter piece he invites himself to continue to insist, to be and exist, despite the great scam around.

Does the public judgment affect you?
I would like to tell you no, but it is so. The mask helps me, I don’t have public recognition in reality, but everything is more complex on social media. If expectations come to hurt, then I crash into it, how they were a wall. In this album I really did this, I transformed that type of pressure into something powerful, disruptive, to do what I wanted, without following external conditioning.

“Valzer” with Nayt starts with a sampling by Orietta Berti, specifically “I will not leave you”.
Taking songs already cult and saming them often does not add anything. We were interested in saming something of particular, unique, to talk about jealousy and relationships, creating a short circuit. Sampling is also useful for rediscovering pieces of our history.

Marracash, the sampling of Italian songs, even more hidden, made it a trademark.
We have a huge musical culture, we can really go to recover beautiful songs, in America they do it with Black Music, we can do it with the songwriter. I believe that, slowly, this idea of ​​the sampling of old songs will be increasingly widespread.

There is an unexpected feat: Icaro.
He is a real artist, who have been following a lot. It is a nerd of music. I wanted it for this. Complete everything: Nayt is a friend, we have the same approach. Gemitaiz has the right aptitude for this album: it’s just a “I do what I want”.

Have you ever thought about making a joint album with Nayt?
Yes, it is a speech that has come out. We thought about it. We will see if there will be a way, for me it would be something enormous.

With this album you wanted to break chains to reach a sort of new start. Does the public today seek that truth that you have chased too?
I think so. And it is also seen in the new generations of rapper, not only in listeners. The market is inflated, twenty new artists per week come out. The only salvation is not to approve itself, it is to stand out for originality. In this sea, only those who carry out something authentic will remain afloat.
