Green Day: “Dookie” songs on strange media
THE Green Day they bet (and they win easily) that you have never seen a reissue of an album like this.
“The album that exploded punk rock 30 years ago, reexploded on dark, obsolete and uncomfortable formats.” With this slogan the pop-punk trio from the Bay Area is re-proposing the album “Dookie” from 1994 in an unexpected and fun way. The individual songs are in fact reproduced played through a Teddy Ruxpin bear, a doorbell, a Big Mouth Billy Bass, a Fisher Price turntable, as well as other strange and unusual formats.
The band calls it a “demaster“, delivering the album’s songs through 15 obscure, outdated and otherwise inconvenient formats. Each song on the album is paired and played through one of the unique players.
The full range of options is listed below, while on the dookiedemastered.com website you can see a video with the songs played on the respective players.

The band has one more concert in 2024, November 15 in Mexico City, then will begin a full-fledged tour on January 19, 2025 from Johannesburg, South Africa.
