Grammy: from Taylor Swift’s new album to the surprise Céline Dion
It seems to have become a habit for Taylor Swift to announce new albums while receiving some awards. After confirming the arrival of “Midnights” at the 2022 MTV VMAs while being awarded in the “Video of the Year” category, this year in receiving the Grammys as “Best pop vocal album” (here is the list of all the winners at the 2024 Grammy Awards) thanks to the 2022 album, the pop star announced a new study.
Taylor Swift’s new album is titled “The tortured poets department” and will be released on April 19th.
During the awards ceremony of the 66th edition of the awards, the voice of “Anti-Hero” also received the Grammy in one of the main categories, the most prestigious and the last one announced during the night, that of “Album of the year”. Taylor Swift thus became the first artist in the sixty-six year history of the Grammys to win the award for best album of the year four times. Furthermore, the final moment of the ceremony coincided with the surprise appearance by Célin Dion. The Canadian singer, engaged in her battle against the rare neurological disorder she has been diagnosed with, called stiff person syndrome, which is took to the stage at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to reward Swift at the end of “music’s biggest night”.
Among other moments worth mentioning were the performance of Billy Joelwho presented “You may be right” before playing live the new single “Turn the lights back on”his first song since 2007, and the performance by Dua Lipa who performed the unreleased “Training season”.
During the 2024 Grammys, Joni Mitchell, U2, SZA, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, Burna Boy, Luke Combs and others also performed.
