Goodbye to Paki Canzi (The New Angels)

Pasquale “Paki” Canzi of Nuovi Angeli has passed away. He was 78 years old and died yesterday, Sunday 15 March.
Born in Milan on 8 September 1947, Canzi was the leader and historic frontman of the band for fifty years, whose success came between the end of the Sixties and the beginning of the Seventies with “Ragazzina, Ragazzina” (1969) and above all “Donna happiness” (1971), also written by Roberto Vecchioni and Andrea Lo Vecchio, which exceeded one and a half million copies. Other well-known songs by the group include “Uakadì Uakadù”, “Singapore” and “Anna da forget”.

Canzi had continued to perform live until today: a concert was scheduled for Friday 20 March at the Bareggio Auditorium
