Goodbye to Bob Bryar, former drummer of My Chemical Romance
Bob Bryar, former drummer of My Chemical Romance, has passed away. According to reports, the musician was found lifeless in his home. He was 44 years old.
According to TMZ, Bryar was found dead in his home in Tennessee on November 27. As reported by the US gossip and entertainment site, Bob was last seen alive on November 4 and his body was discovered by a member of Animal Control. TMZ also reports that no criminal act is suspected as all of Bryar’s weapons and music equipment were left intact in his home and now a medical examiner is performing an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
Born in Chicago on December 31, 1979, Bryar was the longest-serving drummer of the band led by Gerard Way, joining the New Jersey emo rock formation shortly after the release of the second album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”, replacing the original member Matt Pelissier. Bob Bryar then played on the iconic album of MCR, and the entire emo subculture, “The Black Parade”, as well as contributing to the recordings of the 2010 album, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys”, before officially leave the group. Bryar also appears in “Conventional Weapons”. After his stint with My Chemical Romance, Bob Bryar continued to play for other bands, before announcing his retirement from music in 2014 and becoming a real estate agent.
Among those who shared messages following the sad news, there is NOFX’s Fat Mike who on Instagram, with a post accompanied by the cover image of “The Black Parade” and the hashtag “No one deserves to die in Tennessee alone” (“No one deserves to die alone in Tennessee”), he wrote: “What a sad day! ‘The Black Parade’ is truly one of my favorite albums ever. Every song is great which happens very rarely. I want to offer mine more sincere and great than Bob, who was a great drummer and a great guy.”
