Gnarls Barkley, new album after 18 years: it will be the last

It was 2006 when their “Crazy” hit the charts all over the world. Now the Barkley Gnarls are back. Not to stay. Eighteen years after the release of their last album, “The odd couple” in 2008, the duo composed of CeeLo Green and Danger Mouse have released a new album. It is called “Atlanta” and is the last album of the Gnarls Barkley project, which later disbanded.

Atlanta is the hometown of both. The two would have liked to release the album earlier, but «life and other creative endeavors intervened,” before they reunited last year and took time to record this final chapter in their story. The long break between albums was not wasted. Green has released four solo albums, including 2010’s “The Lady Killer,” which included the hit single “Forget You” (also known by its uncensored version “F*** You”), and two LPs with her hip-hop crew Goodie Mob, and has appeared as a judge on “The Voice.” At the same time, Danger Mouse (born Brian Joseph Burton) worked on albums by Beck, Sparklehorse, U2, Black Keys, Norah Jones, Portugal, The Man, A$AP Rocky and many others, while releasing three albums as Broken Bells with James Mercer of the Shins.
